 When I first thought of writing about the
 UK I envisaged it would encompass the
 complete British-Isles. However, the more
 I thought about the project, the more the
 truth dawned – that this book should be
 about the counties north of Watford Gap.
 I have no wish to exclude large parts of the UK on
